 <![CDATA[On Saturday July 30, 2011 crews from LFC headed out to the Community Park at Haverford Reserve to support Freedom Playground by taking part in the annual&nbsp; Touch-A-Truck event. Attendees were able to climb on a&nbsp; variety of trucks, including pieces from all 5 of the HTBF fire stations, HTPD as well as the Paramedic Dept. With temperatures in the 90's the crew from Tower 34 cooled things off with the &amp;quot;Tower Shower&amp;quot; The event is held annually to raise money for improvements and upkeep of Freedom Playground an all-access playground that many of the LFC members help build. By&nbsp; the end of the day over 1,400+ attendees help raise $ 9,400! PECO raised an additional $ 1,000 and the Ronald McDonald House donated&nbsp;$ 25,000 !...]]>

 	<title>Engine 34-1 now in service</title>

 <![CDATA[On Monday June 20, 2011 Chief Roberts placed Engine 34-1 in service. Engine 34-1 replaced Telesqurt 34 which was sold last month. Engine 34-1 is a 2011 KME&nbsp; Severe Service 2000 gpm pumper with a&nbsp;750 gallon water &nbsp;tank. 34-1 will be our 1st out pumper on all structure fires.&nbsp;A few hours after it was in service it was dispatched to it's 1st call a brush fire at Alliston and Manoa Rds. it made the response due to 34-2 was having some work done to it.at the time of the call....]]>

Fire crews concentrated on Engine Company Operations, refining&nbsp;skills in hose advancement, fire suppression and and water supply.&nbsp;Our EMS crews participated in fire scene rehab.&nbsp;On an extremely hot night, our crews completed 3 live burn sessions.  <![CDATA[On Saturday&nbsp;May 7,2011 members of Llanerch Fire Co.met with members of the Leetsdale Fire Company for training on Tele-Squrt 34 which Leetsdale Fire Co.&nbsp;has purchased from Haverford Township. After training&nbsp; was completed both Companies enjoyed a Barbecue at the rear of Station 34 which gave the members of 34&nbsp;and there families time to say good bye to Tele-Squrt 34. Leetsdale Fire Co. left on there journey home on Sunday May 8, 2011 and 7 hours later arrived in Leetsdale Pa. Chief 15-9 (Kelly) immediately requested a 2nd alarm upgrade. Rehab 34 (34-8) arrived on location and provided a medical evaluation area as well a hydration and cooling area for the emergency responders.
