Congratulations to FF Mike McKenzie Jr. and his wife Christine on the
birth of their daughter Elizabeth Rita. Elizabeth came into the world today weighing in at 8 lbs. 2 oz.
Mom, Dad, and baby are all doing well. Capt. Mike McKenzie Sr. (grandpop) and FF Chris James (uncle AND
godfather) will now have 4 future Llanerch firefighters to watch after while Mike Jr. and Christine
recooperate! |

| TRAINING WITH NEW RESCUE EQUIPMENT |

Tonight, was the debut of Monday night drills for the Llanerch Fire
Company. Previously, both fire and EMS drilled on Tuesday nights. With a number of members cross trained
as both fire and EMS, we decided to split the drill nights to improve our training. Fire side will drill
on Monday nights at 19:00 hrs. EMS will continue to drill on Tuesday nights at 19:00 hrs. Drill tonight
consisted of training and familiarization with our new rescue equipment. We have recently put into
service a Hurst Maverick combination tool. The hydraulic tool can both cut and spread. The Maverick can be
utilized in vehicle rescue, residential / commercial, and forcible entry. Future drills are in the works
to have a Vehicle Rescue Technician (VRT) class, for those members that are not yet certified. 24 members
partook in drill tonight. A special thanks to Chris Keane from Guardian Fire/Rescue Equipment for teaching
the class. |
