CAR FIRE
Date: 5/26/06 Following a call to an odor of natural gas, LFC was dispatched to a car fire at the dead end of Vernon Rd. E22 arrived on location to find a Pontiac Vibe with heavy fire from the rear of the vehicle. Crews under the command of Llanerch 7 (Kelly) quickly knocked the fire and put it under control. It is believed the fire may have started with stereo equipment that was mounted in the rear of the vehicle. FM-1 (Marino) was on location investigating while fire crews picked up.

INAUGURAL EMS AWARENESS DAY
Date: 5/20/06 The inaugural EMS Awareness Day event proved to be a huge success. Numerous children and community residents were able to meander through the plethora of EMS apparatus and displays. Demonstrations were put on by PennSTAR and Stache the recovery dog. Booths were setup by local area hospitals, Villanova EMS, and Eastern Mountain Ski Patrol. Residents were able to partake in blood pressure screening. Children took the EMS quiz and won prizes. The children also got to partake in face painting, games, and the moon bounce, with the Chatham Park Elementary School May Fair. During the event we were paid a special visit by Congressman Curt Weldon and Senator Connie Williams. The Llanerch Fire Company would like to thank the Chatham Park Elementary School for allowing us to share in this successful day, and a special thanks to Caroline Bizwanger and her EMS Day committee as well as all organizations participating in the event for making this such a successful event.
