OFF TO A FAST START
Date: 1/10/07 The new E34 wasn't in service for 12 hrs before it was dispatched to it's first working fire. At around 05:34 hrs, crews from the LFC, Station 35 (Brookline), and Rescue 58 (Bon Air) were dispatched to the area of Bewely and Valley Rds. for a possible fire. Crews arrived on location to find a garage that was converted into a pottery shop in the rear yard of a house in the 300 block of Bewely Rd. with fire through the roof. Access was hampered since the garage was so deep into the property. Crews still managed to gain access and extinguish the fire with a defensive attack. Once the fire was extinguished and crews overhauled, the scene was turned over to the Fire Marshal. Great work by all members on scene. Pics courtesy of Matt Hand and John Hayes.

FAREWELL TO THE MACK
Date: 1/9/07 Tonight, the new E34 was placed into service. The KME replaces the old Mack. The Mack was sold to a business in northern New Jersey. She served us well, and hopefully she will do the same for her new owner. Crews have been training as well as mounting equipment on the new KME. Many were sad to see the Mack depart. However, many members are looking forward to having a roof over their heads during the rain and snow! Keep an eye out for the new E34 cruising the streets of Llanerch. Story and specs of the new E34 will be coming shortly!

CHANGING OF THE GUARD
Date: 1/1/07 Today marked the end of an era. After 10 years of serving as Chief of the Llanerch Fire Company, William "Biggs" Baker stepped down to become a firefighter once again. In his place, John Roberts will take the reigns as Chief. The Board, Officers, and Crew would like to thank Biggs for his commitment and dedication as Chief of the LFC. Chief Roberts wasted no time in assuming his new duties. Many members were amazed to see John trying to figure out the firehouse computer system. A little more complicated than that stone and chisel you were used to eh Chief?? Congratulations to both Biggs and John on their future en-devours!
